The Hive Living Funeral Ceremony

Join The Hive and I on Thursday, February 23rd, to confront our mortality. We will be meeting at 143 West Street, Building C, in New Milford.

What exactly is a Living Funeral Ceremony?

It is a group exercise in confronting mortality. When you arrive, you will see your own memorial photograph on a table. You will be confronted with the fact that this is “your last day on this Earth”. Everyone will participate in a writing exercise, and then be laid to rest. You will undergo what is best described as a personal memorial simulation through a guided death visualization.

These workshops can be an extremely useful tool to bring more awareness to your waking life. The process itself may be challenging at times, bringing up raw emotions or memories, but ultimately, the outcome is beneficial in aiding us to live more fully. Folks oftentimes experience an overwhelming sense of gratitude and compassion after attending an LFC. You may find it is easier to forgive or maybe prioritize the important things in your day to day.

The ceremony is typically about 2 hours long. It is a truly transformative journey, bringing a new outlook on life as a whole.
